The left-click button on my laptop trackpad was acting weird and rather than send it back to Dell for them to likely not fix it, I thought a mouse would suffice. I don't really like having to scoot a mouse all over a desk so a trackball seemed a better use of space and more precise. Plus I can sit back with the trackball and click on things without having to find a surface to move a mouse over. I do a lot of photo editing and the trackball works great for that.
This trackball works very well and for $25, a great deal. No regrets here.
